Dr. Nazia Mirza, MBBS

Author | Healthcare Leader | Founder & CEO, Medinet Healthcare

Dr. Nazia Mirza is an ECFMG-certified international medical graduate, former practicing physician in Pakistan, healthcare entrepreneur, and author of two books focused on health literacy and nutrition education.

Her professional journey brings together medical education, clinical experience, international professional development, healthcare leadership, and a passion for making medical knowledge accessible to everyday readers.

Medical Education & Clinical Experience

Dr. Mirza earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Sindh Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan.

Following graduation, she completed her house job with clinical rotations in Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology, gaining hands-on experience in patient care, clinical assessment, and medical decision-making.

She subsequently practiced medicine in Pakistan, where her clinical experience strengthened her understanding of patient care, medical communication, and the importance of health education.

She also successfully passed Part 1 of the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) examination.

U.S. Medical Examinations & Clinical Exposure

Dr. Mirza successfully passed all three steps of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3).

She also obtained certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

As part of her professional development in the United States, she completed a clinical observership at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where she observed and interacted with physicians, gaining exposure to U.S. clinical workflows, healthcare practices, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Healthcare Leadership

Dr. Mirza is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Medinet Healthcare, a healthcare organization serving the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas.

She leads the organization’s executive and administrative operations, strategic planning, and healthcare service development.

Medinet Healthcare works with licensed physicians and nurse practitioners to provide home-based medical services.

Her experience in healthcare leadership complements her medical education and previous clinical experience.

Author & Health Educator

Dr. Mirza believes that understanding health information should not require a medical degree.

Her passion for making complex medical and nutritional concepts understandable inspired her to write two books:

  • Normal Isn’t Optimal: What Your Lab Results Aren’t Telling You — and How to Use Food to Feel Like Yourself Again

A practical guide to understanding common laboratory markers, reference ranges, and trends, while exploring the role of nutrition and lifestyle in overall health.

  • The Everyday Science of Functional Nutrition: Understanding Food, Digestion, and Metabolic Health

An accessible introduction to nutrition science, digestion, gut health, metabolism, and evaluating nutritional information critically.

Through her writing, Dr. Mirza hopes to help readers ask better questions, understand health information, and have more productive conversations with healthcare professionals.
